Gadsby pleads guilty, will serve two years

As part of today's pleading, Gadsby, 23, was sentenced to five years on each manslaughter count, with all but 12 months suspended on each, and a $1,000 fine for DUI.

The prosecution said Gadsby was driving. She said she did not remember who was driving, and her lawyers argued that the evidence did not prove she was.
On the witness stand Wednesday, Gadsby said she initially assumed that she was the driver because she remembered crawling out of the wreck on its left side and thought that was the driver's side. That, along with being very intoxicated and hysterical, made her assume she was the driver, she said. The car, a 1999 Mitsubishi Diamante, belonged to Jackson. A witness said he saw Gadsby driving the car a few minutes before the wreck.

Questions about the guilty verdict arose last week when one of the jurors, Susan Martinson, said she had been intimidated by other jurors into voting for the guilty verdict.
