Last night my taste buds experienced something truly amazing. Something that made my eyes roll to the back of my head with the first bite. That something was a pizza from the one and only original Vincent's Pizza on Ardmore Blvd. in Forest Hills. Don't be scared off by it's run-down appearance- it's been there for over 40 years and the pizza totally makes up for it.
If you've never been to Vincent's, I must tell you that if you don't go hungry, you're missing out. You're lucky if you get through two slices. The crust is thick and the bottom is the perfect crispiness. If you like toppings, this is the place to be. We ordered a pizza, half with mushrooms and roasted red pepper and the other half with pepperoni and Canadian bacon. GUCCI motion detector China tour
It was impossible to even see the cheese with the amount of toppings piled on. There were handfuls of bacon and the mushrooms were everywhere. The roasted red peppers added a bit of a sweet flavor and mixed with the cheese and mushrooms, made it all the more perfect.
Melted cheese strung from the pan to the plate. And the only way to eat this pizza was with utensils. Hands are of no use here, that is until you hit the crust.
