The interface was so straightforward that the current generation of MMOG games look like cheap Windows hacks in comparison. For example, your character's special abilities are lined up at the bottom of the screen, in a configuration just like you'd see in Warcraft III. One interface feature I particularly liked was a little combat heads-up display: When you engage in combat with a creature, small pictures of yourself and the creature appear at the top of the screen with your associated health bars, so you can tell at a glance how well the battle is going. The characters, items and spells are based off of what you'd find with Warcraft III. The strength of tying the two games together is immediately apparent; players will recognize the spell icons, which are identical for spells shared between the two games. As you develop your character, you'll have more and more options available during battles. "Our long term goal is to make it so in combat you actually have a lot to do," explained Dodds. The combat animations were extremely dynamic -- the game had a very console feel, where it was very easy to just jump right into the fray. "We're going to have a lot of trade skills," Dodds told us, "but not ones where you just stand in front of a shopkeeper clicking your mouse for four hours."
